Constantly expanding, the Gábor Kovács Collection is one of the most prestigious private collections in Hungary. Dedicated to modern Hungarian painting, the collection boasts almost 400 works that span the period from the early 18th century to the present day.
The impressive selection in the Municipal Museum of Art (Városi Művészeti Múzeum) of Győr represents the modernist trends of the 20th century through the masterpieces of such greats as Lajos Gulácsy, Tivadar Csontváry Kosztka, István Csók, János Vaszary, Menyhért Tóth and Béla Kondor.
