Reformation 500 - The Bible of Lajos Szalay
National Museum of Art - Cluj-Napoca
It is the most representative baroque building in Transylvania, built up between 1774 and 1785. The museum is known as the Palace Banffy. The building consists of two levels. The museum has a collection of decorative arts (silver, oriental carpets, antique furniture), works by romanian and foreign contemporary art.
The Kovács Gábor Art Foundation, in conjunction with the Debrecen Reformed Theological University, commemorates the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in an ambitious series of exhibitions. The exhibitions present works inspired by the Bible and which help us through crucial issues in life. The exhibition opening on 10 August 2017, hosted by the The Art Museum of Cluj-Napoca deals with the themes of Creation, Covenant, Grace, Temptation and Promise in the graphic works of Lajos Szalay.
